As an employer of 29 apprentices nationally, Gleeds was commended for the support it offers to degree apprentices through its career pathway development guide and the championing of women in construction by current apprentices. Gleeds currently employs 5 apprentices working from its Nottingham office. The apprentices are consistently supported through practical, first-hand experiences at Gleeds, equipping them with the skills required to understand the market and the Gleeds business quickly.

From the commencement of their time at Gleeds, all degree apprenticeship students are assigned an experienced mentor, working in a team of surveyors to assist on projects, with their own responsibilities increasing as they progress. With a Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Assessment of Professional Competence pass rate of 85-90% per annum, Gleeds apprentices are encouraged to develop their own business relationships and independent thinking into their work. Gleeds’ current apprentices champion industry issues, including profiling the role of women in construction to national government and promoting careers in construction to local schools and universities.
